Apothecary volunteer sessions: making medicines together for the local community and learning as we do it - please email us for info about how to join!

Upcoming session details below:

Wednesday 1st July: Re-stocking: processing & storing herbs harvests from the gardens, making up new batches of insect spray, setting up summer infused oils with Calendula & Helichrysum, straining the Lemon Balm Carmelite Water made in May.

Wednesday 15th July: A special edition, learning and sharing about Za’atar, traditional aromatic herb and spice blend native to Palestine and other cultures and lands of the Arab and north African regions. We will be joined by the brilliant Mayya Husseini of Foodisms, who will share with us stories of heritage, of the ingredients and of the different bioregional recipes and their compounding. In solidarity and care with fellow humans who are displaced from their lands and traditional plant practices. We will have harvested and dried some of the herb ingredients from Mulberry Close garden the week before.

Fortnightly Wednesdays at the Hornbeam Centre in Walthamstow, north London (1st + 3rd of each month): making seasonal remedies with our herb harvests from the gardens, learning & knowledge-sharing across cultures, exchanging health and wellbeing stories, journeys, support and care, eating nourishing food together.

Join the morning session 11am-1pm - usually a mix of herb processing & medicine making, with practical learning, with our herbalists Rasheeqa, Odhran & Jayne, healthcare sharing circles, hanging out & chatting, reading and learning.

We share lunch together 1-2pm - we provide food like bread, hummus, home-cooked seasonal offerings (soup, stew, curry, salad), fruits - you are welcome to bring something to add to the table.

Apothecary shop open 2-4pm - a wide range of communally-grown, collectively-made remedies including dried herbs (dozens of different ones from gardens & local lands), topical balms/creams, infused oils, herbal vinegars, tinctures, syrups.
